Light transmission is one of the first quality factors to check because greenhouse film sits directly between sunlight and the crop canopy. Clear film with high light transmission supports photosynthesis, especially in winter, cloudy weather and high-value vegetable or flower production.

However, transparency is not the only optical factor. Haze and diffusion also matter.
