Plastic mulch film for commercial supply

Start with the field requirement, then define the roll.

Plastic mulch film is used over planting beds to manage light at the soil surface, retain moisture and influence soil temperature. The correct film is not determined by color alone. Crop cycle, climate, installation method, bed dimensions and disposal requirements all affect the specification.

TIAN FENG manufactures custom PE mulch film for agricultural distributors, growers and project buyers. Use this page to compare the available structures, prepare your roll data and send a specification that can be reviewed before pricing.

Selection guide

Compare the structure before choosing the color

These are selection tendencies, not guaranteed field outcomes. Validate the structure against crop, climate and installation conditions.

Film structure Primary purpose Soil temperature tendency Light blocking Confirm before ordering
Black General-purpose opaque mulch Varies by climate and season High when correctly specified Thickness, crop cycle and installation tension
Transparent Higher solar transmission Typically stronger warming Low Weed strategy, season and required clarity
White / black Reflective upper face with opaque underside Typically moderates surface heating High from the black layer Layer orientation, opacity and reflectance target
Silver / black Reflective and light-blocking combination Depends on structure and environment High from the black layer Reflectance target, face direction and use objective
Biodegradable End-of-cycle management under a defined standard Product-specific Product-specific Applicable standard, crop cycle and documentation

Important: color names do not define the complete product. Resin system, layer structure, pigments, thickness and exposure conditions can change performance.

Order specification

Define the roll before asking for a price.

A usable quotation begins with production data, not only a product name. Send the information below so material use, roll configuration and packing can be reviewed against your application.

Send your specification
01

Film construction

PE or required material system, color, single- or multi-layer structure and any additive requirement.

02

Finished dimensions

Film width, target thickness or acceptable tolerance, and the dimensions of the covered planting bed.

03

Roll configuration

Roll length or weight, core requirement, maximum roll diameter and packing format.

04

Hole layout

Hole diameter, rows, spacing, pattern and the position of the first hole. A drawing is preferred.

05

Field conditions

Crop, expected field duration, climate, installation method and whether film is laid by hand or machine.

06

Manufacturing and quality control

Quality is a sequence of checks, not a badge.

The approved order specification should remain the reference from material confirmation through packing. Inspection points depend on the product and purchase agreement; confirm the required records before production begins.

  1. Order and material specification confirmation
  2. Film extrusion to the approved construction
  3. Width and thickness inspection
  4. Perforation, rewinding and roll configuration
  5. Finished-roll, label and packing inspection
  6. Loading against the agreed packing list

Before production

What your team should approve

Reference sample or data sheet

Confirm which document or approved sample governs color, dimensions and construction.

Tolerance and inspection method

Agree how width, thickness, roll length, perforation and packing will be checked.

Artwork and identification

Approve labels, carton marks, pallet marks and traceability information before printing.

Required documents

List the test reports, declarations or shipment documents required for your destination and application.

Buyer questions

Mulch Film FAQ

Practical answers about material, customization, quotation and order confirmation.

What material is your plastic mulch film made from?

Conventional plastic mulch film is manufactured from polyethylene-based material systems, which may include LDPE and LLDPE grades selected according to the required film structure and mechanical performance. If you require biodegradable mulch film, please specify the applicable standard, crop cycle and documentation requirements because it uses a different material system.

Which mulch film colors and structures are available?

Available structures include black, transparent, white/black and silver/black mulch film . The appropriate structure depends on the required light blocking, soil-temperature tendency, reflectance, crop, season and local climate. Custom colors can be reviewed when you provide the target color, application and order specification.

Can the thickness, width and roll length be customized?

Yes. Thickness, finished width and roll configuration can be reviewed against your application and production requirements. The available specification range includes 8–50 μm thickness and 0.6–3.3 m width. Please also provide the required roll length or roll weight, core size, maximum roll diameter and whether the film will be installed manually or by machine. Final feasibility is confirmed against the complete specification before production.

Can you manufacture perforated mulch film?

Perforated mulch film can be reviewed according to the planting layout and production specification. Please provide the hole diameter, number of rows, spacing between holes, spacing between rows, film width and position of the first hole . A dimensioned drawing is recommended so the pattern and machine direction can be confirmed before production.

What information do you need to prepare an accurate quotation?

Please provide the film structure or material requirement, color, width, thickness, roll length or roll weight, core size, perforation layout, packing method, order quantity, application and destination . If available, include an existing sample, technical data sheet or dimensioned drawing for reference.

What affects the MOQ and production lead time?

MOQ and production lead time depend on the film structure, color, width, thickness, roll configuration, perforation, printing, packing and total quantity . Standard specifications may require less production preparation than custom colors, perforated rolls or printed packaging. Send the complete specification and destination so the MOQ and lead time can be confirmed for the proposed order.

Which quality documents can be supplied with the order?

Available documents depend on the product specification, inspection plan and purchase agreement. Please state any required specification sheet, inspection record, test report, declaration, label information or shipment document during quotation so its availability can be confirmed before production.
